December 22 My engagementSo, since it's been awhile since I last blogged, I'm going to talk a bit about the latest events in my life. Chris and I got engaged the day before our 10 year anniversary. The day started out with us going out to celebrate our upcoming anniversary. Chris took me first to Supercuts for a new, cheap 'do and then out to a matinee showing of Paprika. I was super excited about the movie, as we rarely get to see any anime in theatres. Then he headed over to The Keg, for a romantic dinner filled with steak. Mmmm... The meal was fantastic. I ordered the usual, teriyaki steak dinner (steak, baked potato with all the trimmings and a ceasar salad). We also had the warm, delicious bread. The bread was served to us in a little bread basket, kept warm by a napkin. As we were eating, the bread ran out so Chris requested an extra basket of bread. That is slightly unusual, as we usually just have the one, but hey, I love the bread, so I wasn't going to question anything. When the bread arrived, Chris asked me to butter him a piece. Now, I was in full on eating mode. I had my steak knife in one hand, and a fork in the other, so I wasn't wanting to stop the fine dining process, in fact, I recall thinking, "Why can't you butter your own bread?!", but, since he was paying, I thought better of it and went for the basket. As I pulled back the napkin, there sat the most beautiful blue box I've ever seen. Tiffany's. Wow. I went into shock. I quickly put the napkin over the basket and shoved it away. Then, slowly, I pulled it back to myself, lifted the napkin, shook my head, and pushed it away again. I believe I was laughing/crying and saying, "Noooo...no. No way...nope...so soon?" over and over. Poor Chris just sat there watching me go crazy. I really thought I had another 5 years before anything like this would happen. Then, I started thinking to myself that maybe, just maybe it was a nice watch in the little blue box. Yes! A watch! I lifted the box out of the bread basket. It was very heavy. Maybe it was a watch. I slowly undid the beautiful white ribbon and pulled out the box inside. It was not a watch box. I lifted the lid...and started to cry. Inside that velvety black box sat the loveliest ring I had ever seen. Chris then came over beside me and asked if I would marry him, and finally, I said, "Yes!".
It's been a long time...So, I'm thinking about starting this blog up again. I don't know what I'm going to write about. I think it'll be a combination of my life experiences and my favourite celeb gossip. :) Of course I'll also talk alot about my kitties. I'm kind of glad to be back, but I'm going to take this slow...as it's been a long time...
